Laptop Learning: Preparing Students for Tomorrow

In order to prepare our students to be successful global citizens, we need to guide them to be self–directed in their learning and to be lifelong learners. Ubiquitous computing such as that in a school with laptops allows students to be self–directed in their studies. "Laptop learning" is one way that educators can provide opportunities for students to be engaged and empowered with their own education. Share your successes, your thoughts, your ideas, and your concerns here so that we can communicate and collaborate to create authentic learning experiences for our students.

Going "Green" at Laptop Schools

One of the focal points of this year's iSummit is environmentalism and being a "green" school. The Gillespie School in La Jolla has installed solar panels on their campus to conserve energy. What initiatives has your campus taken in this direction?

Dear Julene,
I'm new to ning, a member of the network creators group, and planning some exciting things for our learning community website for students and teachers interested in rainforests. I'm looking for website and technical assistance re: ning and camaraderie for some exciting network building on ning as we migrate to a private url.

I'm trying to make some major web decisions and would love to hear from you. I'm not sure how to initiate our discussion. Would there be a time that we could talk? Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Frances

Way to go, lady!
